NIGEL ROSE GALLERY

The Nigel Rose Gallery opened on Brighton seafront in May 2017. Geoff currently has three paintings on display. These include ‘Charleston Copse’ 2015.

The gallery is situated next to the i360 at 100/102 King’s Road Arches, Brighton BN1 2FN.

AbCrit INTERVIEW WITH IAN McKEEVER

COACHWERKS EXHIBITION

The recent exhibition at the new Coachwerks gallery was well received, wth a well attended Private View. 2017 promises to be a busy year with a one-man show in Shrewsbury in the summer. But before then Geoff will be joining the Nigel Rose Gallery on Brighton seafront.

ROUND GEORGES EXHIBITION

November 22nd, 2015

A selection of 16 paintings from the past three years is currently on show at The Round Georges public house in Kemptown, Brighton. The exhibition will continue until the end of January 2016. Over these 3 months additional paintings will replace some of the initial hang to track the changes from semi-figurative (seascape) paintings to more overtly abstract compositions.

Geoff has been writing for Abcrit (discourses on abstract painting and sculpture). His most recent article reports on Berlin artist Dennis Loesch who exhibited at PM/AM gallery in London.

WRITING FOR CFA

Over the past few months Geoff has continued to paint (more news on this very soon) but he has also started writing articles for Conceptual Fine Arts (CFA). His latest article is a report on a visit to Raven Row in London for a Contemporary Dance  exhibition and performances of Yvonne Rainer’s work. See www.conceptualfinearts.com

20 PAINTERS at PHOENIX BRIGHTON

A selection of Geoff’s paintings from the last 18 months will be on display in 20 Painters celebrating the strength and vibrancy of contemporary painting in the South East region. Responding to an open submission call to artists based in Sussex, Kent and Surrey, twenty artists were selected to show their work in the gallery this year.

The show opens with a Preview on Friday 7 February (6-8pm). The exhibition will be open Wednesday – Sunday, 11am to 5pm from 8 February to 30 March, 2014.

WORTHING ART STUDIOS

On Sunday 19 May, Geoff will be giving a presentation at Worthing Art Studios. Worthing Art Studios are located at Unit 2, King Edward Close, Worthing, BN14 8DJ.
They provide workspace and networking opportunities for 12 artists and makers living in Worthing and the surrounding area.

I Am The Sea – “Can you see the real me, can you, can you?”

Geoff will present extracts from his on-going ‘Studio Diary’ and ‘Interviews’ that are written alongside his studio practice as a painter. He will also talk about recent developments in his painting that sees a shift from a semi-figurative to a more predominantly ‘abstract’ appearance.
