Geoff Hands Artwork

Artists Open House 2011

Arrangements for the Brighton Festival of Artists’ Open Houses are now well underway.

Geoff will be opening his house at 127 Havelock Road again in May 2011 and he has invited former exhibitors, and Northbrook College colleagues, Rebecca Ellis-Brown and David Blackaller, to show their work once again. Rebecca displayed her delicately made, yet visually powerful, ceramics last year and David showed his sculptures at the house about ten years ago.

A particularly interesting visual juxtaposition is anticipated between Geoff’s Cornish and Sussex Coast inspired paintings and drawings and David’s wall mounted sculptures that respond to the vast, wind swept beaches and fields of the Isles of Scilly and the Western Isles.

To compliment the visual art the Hove based Waterloo Press will display and sell a range of their poetry titles. Live readings will take place at the house during the private view – contact Geoff if you would like an invitation.
